What it says on the back of the book
Get Physical! is a unique physical education scheme that covers the National Curriculum programme of study for games and gymnastics at Key Stage 1. Designed as a PE scheme for all children, the materials provide focussed support for those children with specific motor difficulties.
Get Physical! is equally suitable for use by class teachers, occupational therapists or physiotherapists and provides you with 40 clear, detailed lesson plans that:
- cover the PE requirements of the National Curriculum in an enjoyable, engaging way;
- incorporate activities which are both therapeutic and educational;
- develop important perceptual and motor process skills in all children;
- Facilitate the inclusion of all children in class PE;
- are formative and diagnostic, enabling you to identify individual areas of need;
- help you to integrate learning in PE with other aspects of the curriculum.
No specialist equipment is required, and low-cost alternatives to standard school sports apparatus are suggested where possible.
