Morrells Handwriting runs INSET and twilight handwriting courses for nursery, primary, secondary schools and universities. The training session is 2 hours. We offer both virtual and in-person training, depending on availability. The course is both a practical session and a theory session and contains the following:
- highlighting the environmental problems that are the cause of poor handwriting skills
- identifying developmental problems and root causes that can affect handwriting
- developing dexterity – important for speed and fluency
- how to support the human development needed for legible handwriting
- the importance of postural control for auditory processing and the correct sitting position to write

- teaching letter formation to quickly unpick illegible handwriting – the magic root letters
- identifying handwriting problems and correcting them – case studies
- the teaching of joined-up handwriting effectively and unpicking problems
